Who We Are

Our Counseling Practice

image3

In 1990, CrossWay Counseling Center was founded by Michael Gates in Daphne, AL.  CrossWay is a for profit counseling center. Our professionally trained counselors apply their knowledge of Psychology and Christian principles to serve individuals, couples, and families. We provide outpatient counseling services to individuals of all ages. Our staff is trained to deal with a wide range of issues. We are dedicated to meeting people at their point of need.

We have several licensed counselors on site who assist clients using different types of therapeutic techniques. We do not have a psychiatrist on site nor on staff, but we do consult with local area psychiatrists and general physicians to meet the needs of our clients as part of their treatment plan and recovery. We provide 24-hour emergency coverage for our current clients. Most insurances are accepted and we have a therapist on site for those needing a reduced fee (For more information about fees, please contact our office).

God's unfailing and unchanging Word is the foundation of my approach to counseling. My education and training in family systems provide a strong orientation to facilitate change. Through my challenges as a wife, mother, single parent, step-mother in a blended family, mother-in-law, and grandmother, God has taught me empathy and given me insight. He truly wastes nothing! (Romans 8:28). I enjoy working with individuals, couples, and families, from school-age children to senior adults.

After enjoying a rewarding career as a Speech Pathologist, followed by a maturing season of "retirement," God drew me into a second career in Marriage and Family Therapy. It has been an amazing journey!
